Idrissa, chronicle of an ordinary death

28 June - 19:00h MACBA Auditorium Free-access activity until capacity is full

By dismissing the case of Idrissa Diallo and blocking all access to his police record, the Spanish legal system has made it practically impossible to investigate how and why this 21 year-old Guinean died in an immigrant holding center in Barcelona. The Spanish state did not even bother to inform his family of his death. He was buried in Barcelona in an unmarked tomb.

Without so much as a photograph of the victim, the team of “Idrissa, crònica d’una mort qualsevol” launches an investigative and social mobilization effort in the search for the justice that the Spanish state has eluded: find Idrissa’s body and his family, and discover what happened that night in a cell at the controversial detention center.
